Harry D. Callicotte

J.D., P.E., SPEC

Harry is the Managing Member of H&H Energy Group, LLC, an energy consulting firm located in Lexington, Kentucky, serving clientele from the Illinois Basin to the Appalachian Basin. From 2008 through 2014 he served as the Senior Corporate Counsel to Magnum Hunter Production, Inc., in Lexington, Kentucky. He has over 35 years of combined legal and business experience, primarily in the energy sector. Mr. Callicotte is admitted to practice before the Kentucky Bar, as well as both the Kansas and Missouri Bars. He is also a registered Professional Engineer and has been certified by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPEC). He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Kansas, an MBA in Management from the University of Texas-Permian Basin, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.


Mr. Callicotte is a seasoned industry leader with extensive experience and a profound commitment to advancing the oil and gas sector. As the former Chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Eastern Section and past Chairman of the Technical and Regulatory Committee, Harry has driven key initiatives to uphold industry standards and foster technical excellence. His role as a Board Director for the Kentucky Oil and Gas Association further underscores his dedication to supporting the region's energy landscape, where he has been instrumental in shaping policy and advocating for responsible development.


In addition, Mr. Callicotte retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. Prior to joining Magnum Hunter, he had completed five years of active duty, including three of those years deployed to Iraq. While in Baghdad, he served as the military liaison to the Iraq Oil Ministry. For his service to our nation, Mr. Callicotte has received numerous awards and decorations to include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Meritorious Service Medal, the Combat Action Badge and the Military Parachutist Badge. In addition, he is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and the Civil Affairs Officer Qualification Course at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center.
